Important Update: New Claim Submission Requirements from Molina Healthcare

We want to inform all ElderSuite users who submit claims to Molina Healthcare about recent changes that may affect claim acceptance and payment processing.

What’s Changed?

Molina Healthcare has introduced two new requirements for electronic claims:

  1. Taxonomy Code Requirement
Molina now requires a valid Taxonomy Code to be submitted with all electronic claims.
ElderSuite has already been updated to include the appropriate Taxonomy Code automatically, based on your provider information.
Action Required: Ensure you are using the latest version of ElderSuite. Claims submitted from outdated versions may not include the required code.

  2. Full 9-Digit ZIP Code (ZIP+4)
Molina is also now requiring the Provider ZIP Code to be submitted in the ZIP+4 format (for example, 12345-6789).
Claims submitted with only the standard 5-digit ZIP Code may be silently rejected or held without processing.

    Action Required:

  • Go to Provider Information in ElderSuite.

  • Update the Provider ZIP Code fields to include the full 9-digit ZIP code.

Failure to meet these new requirements may result in claims being held, rejected, or not showing up in the Molina portal.

If you have already resubmitted claims after making these updates, please allow time for them to be processed. Some delays may occur before they appear in the Molina system.

Thank you for helping us keep your claims running smoothly.
